One of the best examples of the vintage from what was a very difficult vintage in Volnay with its now mature earthy fruit nose that is cut with pronounced bacon fat notes that continue on the noticeably sweet flavors that benefit from the impressive levels of sève which seems to completely bury the remaining structure. In sum, this is long, fine and classy with ample complexity that could be drunk now or held for another decade without difficulty. Multiple, and consistent, notes.
