Major United States Wine Growing Regions:
Like in France, there are numerous wine growing
regions in the United States. Some of the major
regions of wines available at Santa Rosa Fine Wine
include those from Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley.
Napa Valley - Napa Valley is considered one of the
top American Viticultural Areas in California, and the United
States with more than three hundred wineries. Grape varietials
grown include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir,
Chardonnay, and other popular varietals. The Napa Valley, like
other areas of the wine country has distinct microclimates
where certain varietals grow best.
Sonoma Valley - Like the Napa Valley, the County of
Sonoma hosts some of the finest wine made in California.
Sonoma County is located just north of San Francisco, and at
over 1600 square miles, extends west to the California coast.
Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet, Merlot and numerous other
varietals grow well in the various wine appellations in
Sonoma.
