The 2001 Gravelly Meadow is a deep ruby-colored Cabernet Sauvignon displaying a sweet nose of black currants, cherries, cedar, tobacco, and subtle smoky oak. Medium to full-bodied, it shows excellent purity of fruit, firm but ripe tannins, and impressive concentration for the vintage. The wine is structured yet balanced, with a long, focused finish and a classic sense of restraint and elegance that should allow it to evolve gracefully with additional bottle age.
