A somber yet beautiful dark fruit nose that displays good complexity and moderate secondary aromas is followed by moderately robust, full-bodied, still somewhat tannic flavors of excellent grip and depth. There is real character here and while this is still a mildly rustic wine, there is a lovely velvety quality to the finish. This could be drunk now though it should continue to smooth out over the next two decades as it will easily hold at this level for years to come. Consistent notes.
