As one would expect from the '96 vintage at this point, the full, expressive, black fruit aromas remain entirely primary and lead to medium weight flavors of mouth coating richness and a fruit-driven complexity. This is still firmly tannic and the structural impression is accentuated by the bright, intense, indeed even vibrant acidity. I very much like the style of this because if though it is a touch awkward today, the excellent potential is evident.
