This is still a very backward and youthfully austere effort that possesses a rich and intense but reserved nose of earth and moderately ripe pinot fruit that leads to concentrated and somewhat dusty medium full flavors that culminate in excellent length on the velvety finish. This is not really a charmer yet it is appealing in its fashion and should easily last for another 20 years. Multiple and consistent notes.
